Day 1

photo.JPGAfter a ridulously early start we arrived safely.  We are one more person down. Our co-leader Liz Kinchen stayed home due to the sudden death of Jason`s father last night.  Our prayers go out to Jason and his mom, Sandy.

We spent the afternoon reuniting with the children that so many of us sponsor sharing many hugs and pictures.  The kids had a great time making cinnamon rolls (rollos de canela) for tomorrow morning and the rolls smelled delicious.  The dining hall looks great with the bright colors and large kitchen.

Julie shared an evening devotion written by Philip Andrews in Bread for Tomorrow:  There is dignity here - we will exalt it.  There is courage here - we will support it.  There is humanity here - we will enjoy it.  There is a universe in every child- we will share it.

More news to share tomorrow.

  1. I am glad you all arrived safely and had a happy reunion with the children. I am so with you in spirit! I will be headed to Colorado in a day or two for my father-in-law's service. We are all so very sad. Thank you for your prayers.
